TROUBLESHOOTING
"Invalid Username or Password" message-
- Check spelling, CapsLock and NumLock keys.
- Is username followed by: @rvlogon.com ?
- Is your subscription time expired?
- If these don't work, call us.
Can't get connected-
Start with the power:
- Is your wifi device (may be a card in your computer or an externally powered antenna) plugged in or otherwise powered?
- Is every connection solid?
- Are all the usual lights lit?
- Especially after a power outage, try unplugging each device in turn for a few seconds, then replugging.
- Did your external antenna change directions in the wind?
- Is there a new rig parked between you and the access point?
- Is your wifi card, adapter, router, etc. set to an SSID other than "rvlogon"?
After the hardware, check the software:
- Make sure that your homepage is
not set to www.rvlogon.com or 192.168.1.1:8080/session.asp Use Google or MSN or something out on the net.
Try closing your browser, then reopening.
Is your anti-virus software set correctly for hotspots?
Is your firewall set to allow connections at hotspots?
How do I log off?If possible, allow popups on the page where you initially input your username and password. Then you will see a small popup window with a "Logoff" button. Minimize the popup and retrieve it when you want to shut down your browser. If you get a "Page cannot be displayed..." notice, right click the middle of the box and refresh/restore it (maybe twice) and you will generally get the box back. Click the button and you're off.
If it's easier for you, you can set the logoff page as a Favorite or Bookmark. Its URL is: http://192.168.1.1:8080/session.asp
Shutting your browser does not immediately log you off the Internet, but the system will eventually cycle through and do it for you if you miss the logoff page.
There are issues with my email-
- Are you actually on the Internet? You
must sign onto the net before you can use email - it doesn't work to just turn the computer on and click your email program.
- Click the "Using RVLogon Email" link at www.rvlogon.com for instructions on how to set up Outlook Express and other email information.
- You can access your username@rvlogon.com email account by going to: www.rvlogon.com/webmail , inserting your username before the "@rvlogon.com" in the top box and your password in the bottom box.
It's running slow-
- Run a virus scan and a spyware scan - both can cause your processing speed to deteriorate.
- Check all your connections - power, card or adapter, etc. for solidity - looseness can cause slow running.
